The rules for using Battery Figures: what a lookup is, how lookups and payments work, and what the data can and cannot tell you.
The service
Battery Figures lets you enter the VIN of a Model S, 3, X or Y and read the battery estimate that Tesla returns for that car, together with the car’s specification, and keep cars in a personal list. Other Tesla models are outside the service; a VIN of one is refused before it costs a lookup. The service is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Tesla, Inc. Tesla is a trademark of Tesla, Inc.
The data is an estimate
Battery figures are Tesla’s estimate from vehicle telemetry. They can be missing, rounded or out of date, and they are not a battery test, an inspection or advice on whether to buy a car. You decide what to buy and you should inspect the car.
Your account
You log in with a link sent to your email address. Keep your mailbox secure, since access to it is access to your account. Do not use the service to copy it in bulk or to put load on it that other users would feel.
Lookups and payments
What a lookup is
A lookup asks Tesla for the battery estimate of one car and adds that car to your cars. It is delivered instantly, when the result is shown to you.
- A lookup of a car that is not in your cars uses 1 lookup.
- A car already in your cars costs nothing to open, and no lookup is used.
- Refreshing a car in your cars uses 1 lookup and is available once its last lookup is more than 7 days old.
- No lookup is used, and nothing is charged, when Tesla has no battery estimate for the car. Such a car is not added to your cars.
Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have a right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. Because lookups are digital content delivered instantly, your right of withdrawal ends for each lookup once you use it, with your express consent given at checkout. Refunds
Used lookups are not refundable. Unused lookups can be refunded within 14 days of purchase: email us with your receipt. If we stop the service, we refund unused lookups.
Expiry and prices
Lookups never expire, as long as the service runs. A change to our prices does not affect lookups you have already bought.
Payment
Lookups are sold in packs, priced as shown on the pricing page and confirmed at checkout. Stripe processes the payments, and we never see your card number. Taxes, where they apply, are shown at checkout. [VAT treatment to be confirmed.]
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of the data or for losses from data that is missing, wrong or late. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. [Limitation wording to be completed by counsel.]
